I just wanted to talk… (Scenes – #12)

“Just wanted to talk…”

How often we want to say something to a person, that instead of engaging into conversation is scurrying away from us, perhaps sensing a foreign accent, prefers to keep their distance from an unknown stranger…

Happened to you?? Happened certainly to me.

That’s the message of this cutout. The scenery of this picture is “borrowed” from my own wife, Małgorzata (Margaret). She had a moment in her painting history, when she imagined beautiful, very atmospheric semi-abstract sceneries, like the two quoted below:

As I like to have some action in my creations, I placed in such a scenery two individuals, a fugitive defenseless human and equally harmless, umbrella equipped, crocodile. Well, it’s an open question whether there is at all something like a harmless crocodile. It seems, there is, at least in my imagination. Or, there are in many instances, individuals that appear like terrible monstrosities, but actually, they seek a human friendly contact.

It is very philosophical, I know. I am wandering, on the other hand myself, why this thing pops out in my art (and repeatedly). What kind of message my subconscious wants to convey to me?
